CONSTRUCTION OF RTC (Regional Theology Centre) The work at the site seems to go on at snail's pace. Even though we would like to see the building coming up fast and become available for use within the stipulated time frame, given the constraints of the contractors due to shortage of workers, it may not be a realistic or reasonable expectation. And in fact, even after a lot of hurdles we got the permission from the city administration to construct, the weather played havoc in the initial stages of the actual work. Now that it has come up to the roof-slab and almost 50% of the work is done, it will still take a lot more time to complete; maybe by the end of the year 2011 it will all be done. And so the problems the students were facing for the past several years, namely, moving from one place to another, shifting everything and putting up with very limited space at their disposal, will finally be solved and they will be able to move in to the new facility, hopefully, before the year ends. And they will have a small campus of their own. And they can concentrate on what they are expected to. Study, reflect, contextualize and theologize! A great THANK YOU to Missio Aachen and all the well-wishers of the IMS who are contributing their share both small and great to make this Theologate of the IMS a reality. It will be a dream come true! ![]() Most of the walls inside have been plastered and so are the columns along the corridors on either inner side. |
GENERAL ACTIVITIES Dear friends, with your help and support the ministries we have undertaken in various parts of the country are going on fairly well. Whether it is the Care and Support Centre for the HIV/AIDS patients at Karunapuram, and the Prmiary School for the rural, poor children at Danthalappalli in Andhra Pradesh, the Special School for the Hearing Impaired at Devarapura in Karnataka, they are all doing well thanks to the great generosity of many of you. Our little centre for alcohol de-addiction and renewal of life in Koottupuzha is drawing a lot of people and is doing miracles in their lives thanks to the selfless efforts of our community and the service team in Koottupuzha Renewal Centre. The ministry among the slum dwellers in and around Varanasi, the special apostolate of Child Line in the city and around, the Proclamation ministry among the devotees of Christ who flock to our Matridham Ashram in their thousands from far and wide, and the number of people who are helped in various ways at our mission stations in various dioceses are testimony to the fact that your prayers, sacrifices and financial help and support for the mission of the IMS is bearing fruit. We often wonder how we could have undertaken what we have without your assistance! Let's continue to be partners in the mission of the Lord. Let's rededicate ourselves to continue to answer his call to be evangelizers to the whole world. The southside exterior wall is nearing completion. But it wouldn't be done before the feast of Diwali. ![]() |
